Bazı kanser türlerinde en önemli rolü oynayan gen kontrol edilebilirse hastalık önlenebilecek.
Genetik haritasını çok güçlü bilgisayarlarla inceleyen uzmanlar, kanser türlerinin yüzde 10’unda bir numaralı rolü oynayan bir gen keşfetti.

UTX adlı gen, DNA’nın yapısını belirleyen bir enzimi kontrol ediyor. Bu genin kontrolünün ise kanseri önleyebileceği belirtiliyor. Araştırmacı Andy Futreal, "Birçok genin aksine, UTX, kanserlerin hazır olana kadar saklandıkları derinlikleri gösterebiliyor" dedi.
