ÜSKÜDARIN DOST IŞIKLARI

Ötmekte fecre karşı horozlar birer birer

Geçtikçe her dakika belirmektedir seher.

Bilmem kaçıncı fecri vatan toprağında, biz,

Görmekle şimdi bir yaşatan vecd içindeyiz.

Etrâfı okşuyor mayısın tâze rüzgârı;

Karşımda köhne Üsküdar'ın dost ışıkları...

Kimlersiniz? Ya bağrı yanık kimselersiniz!

Yâhut da her sabâh uyanık kimselersiniz!

Dünya yüzünde, bir sefer olsun, tanışmadan,

Öz çehrenizle sizleri görmekteyim bu an.

Sizlersiniz bu ân'ı ışıklarla Türk eden!

Eksilmesin şu mutlu şafaklar bu ülkeden!

Gönlüm, dilim, kanım ve mizâcımla sizden'im

Dünyâ ve âhirette vatandaşlarım benim.
Kaderimi Kendim Yazarım Sandım...
