Bizim Memleket

Içinden tanırım ben o elleri,
Onlar ki zahirde viran olurlar;
Ardıçlı dağları, çamlı belleri
Aşanlar şi'rine hayran olurlar.

Dökülür köpüklü sular yarından,
Baharlar yaratır kışın karından;
Içenler sihirli pınarlarından
Şöyle bir silkinir, ceylan olurlar!..

Orada yaşayan erlerin içi
Bir yaşta yoğurur derdi, sevinci;
Onlar ki sabansız, tarlasız çiftçi,
Davarsız, kavalsız çoban olurlar.

Başıboş, kırlara salar tayını,
Elinden düşürmez okla yayını;
Ellere bırakır zafer payını,
Memleket yolunda kurban olurlar...
Kaderimi Kendim Yazarım Sandım...
