Fırat

Şu mavi dağların uzaklarında
Bir akar suyun adıdır "Fırat"
Ve sevdiğim çocuğun dudaklarında
Sevdiğim bir türkünün adı...
Türkünün tadına karışır
Söyliyen dudakların tadı.

Ey beyaz çocuk, sarışın çocuk,
Dilinde herşey güzelleşen
Cana yakın çocuk...
Kızım, kardeşim...

Günler, geceler ötesi,
Gelirse beklediğim
Masal gecesi;
Şu fani dünyada her murad olsun
Ve senden doğacak kızımın
Adı "Fırat" olsun!
